The Wrong Side of Satisfaction

Those damn Stoics. They'd have a perfect philosophical doctrine if they weren't entirely wrong. A single missed turn lands you in New Jersey instead of New York. I offer the stoics a single direction. There is no perfectly ordained world to obey. The maxim "to lack all dissatisfaction" is a laudable goal, obtainable by fulfilling or renouncing all desires.

Why not choose the overflowing cup rather than the empty one? Why not try and satisfy all desires? Refreshed by ends sought and ends earned. Satisfied that one did her best and was even modestly rewarded. I imagine that woman lacks no dissatisfaction. There's no Broadway in Jersey.
